20 swims for 20 years of BCH: Dr. Scott Kellermann dedicates his swim at Salmon Lake to all medical volunteers, university partners and volunteer support staff. Dr. Scott and his wife, Carol, coordinated and hosted volunteers in Bwindi during the early years of Bwindi Community Hospital. A few years later, the Bwindi Guest House, run by Daniel and Rachel Jamison, launched as an arm of BCH so volunteers and visitors would feel at ease while being far from home. Dr. Mohamed, an internist at BCH now works as a supervisor to medical students coming to volunteer. To round out the team, the Kellermann Foundation’s volunteer coordinator, Penny Lalanne provides support from the U.S. as volunteers plan their trips.
