Partners in Education

Education is not free for Ugandan students. School fees are far beyond the means of most families, most of whom live on less than $1 a day.

The Batwa Development Program is a comprehensive program to help Batwa families through educational initiatives such as:

• Four independent schools employing certified teachers and qualified staff

• Educational support for approximately 1,400 students in eleven settlements at every level from nursery to university

• Tuition, supplies, lunches, uniforms, mentoring

• Transportation, mattresses, and holiday packages for Batwa boarding students

How to help:

Support a student for a year or more:

-Primary: $750

-Secondary: $1,400

-Adult vocational: $800

- Nursing: $1,500 ($4,500 for a 3-year degree)

- University: $3,000 ($9,000 for a bachelor degree)
